Assmann is a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality components for the electronics industry.
The Assmann group presently employs about 300 people in 8 countries in the USA, Europe and the Far-east.
We developed a robust, high-performance inventory search and ordering system for Assmann. Customers first
have to register online. Registrations are evaluated by Assmann and a username/password subsequently issued
via email. After logging in, customers can search for inventory items by Part Number and Description. Search
results are displayed with item details, inventory information and links to PDF datasheets. Search results are
spread across multiple pages if there are more than 50 matching items in the database. Customers can add items
to their shopping cart by checking on boxes in the search results pages. They can specify quantities desired at
the time of checkout and place an order through a secure, online purchase order process. Inventory and Datasheet
information is integrated into the database via XML and FTP at regular intervals each day.
